REFINING FIRE INSTITUTE ABROAD

Founded by Jonita McKinney in 2015, Refining Fire -Atlanta, INC. was established to provide youth an environment in which they can reach their fullest potential. What began as a small community venture has grown into an enterprise that’s committed to empowering youth of all backgrounds.

May 2019, 8 RFI youth will participate in the inaugural Refining Fire Institute Abroad trip. They will travel to Puerto Rico to visit orphanages and help the territory rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. This trip will give our youth a unique opportunity to utilize the ‘service” core value. This experience will equip them with the insight, understanding, and empathy they need to observe and address the life challenges of others as well as their own in a nonjudgmental way.
