Educational Initiative

Our educational initiatives enable us to further invest in the promising futures of our youth. The program connects youth to the support and resources needed to successfully graduate high school and prepare for post-secondary education opportunities. Our primary components are:

  • Tutoring: Youth are tutored by a qualified staff member or volunteer. Each child is required to maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Youth who have a grade point average below 2.5 will be required to attend mandatory one-on-one tutoring sessions twice a week.

  • College and University Tours: Students participate in college and university tours during spring break and the school district’s summer months. These tours provide students with hope for their future education and gives them the opportunity to experience life on a college campus.

  • Workshops: Education experts lead workshops for students on topics including:

    • Completing a College Application

    • Effective Writing for College-Bound Students

    • Types of Financial Aid: Pros and Cons

    • Budgeting 101

    • Time Management & Undergraduate Studies
