About The Founder

Jonita McKinney

Jonita1I have finally said YES to God and I’m now walking in my purpose!!! No one knows your story just by looking at you. No one would be able to look at me and tell that I was a victim of sexual, physical and mental abuse. The devil tried to attack my mind by making me think I was not worthy to be alive. #BUTGOD
As a former foster child from the age of 14 – 21 and a teenage mother at the age of 17, I know first-hand the importance of cultivating and molding youth. Throughout the years that I was in foster care I struggled with depression, low self-esteem and suicidal ideation. My life changed once there was a person who committed to making sure that I excelled as a teen mother and a high school student. That mentor is still a part of my life today.
In 2004, I was introduced to Higher Heights Christian Church and Bishop Wyatt I. Greenlee, by a very good friend of mine. They played an intricate part in my salvation. In 2009, I joined the U.S Army to make a better life for my son and I. In 2013, I moved to Atlanta and embarked on a new journey of self discovery. Soon after relocating I joined The Vision Church of Atlanta under the presiding Bishop O. C. Allen III. At that time I became a member of Spiritual Gifts in Movement. In early July 2015 GOD spoke to me in a dream and birthed Refining Fire – Atlanta Inc. RFA is what this generation of youth need. Consistency and trust goes a long way.
RFA’s purpose is to change the world ONE heart, ONE child, ONE person in need at a time!
